ESAA at
the Scout Fair, April 18 |
|
The Eagle Scout Alumni
Association will host the Eagle Hospitality booth at the San Diego Imperial Council
Scout Fair. The Scout Fair will be held at Qualcomm Stadium on
Saturday, April 18, from 9AM to 3PM. We will have interesting
memorabilia, photos of Eagles in action, and a map of where Eagles in the
county received their rank award. We will be set up to register new
ESAA members and we are helping the Council collect information on all
council Eagle Scouts regardless of ESAA membership. Stop by our
booth and say hello!

Eagle
Recognition Dinner, April 21 |
|
Achieving the rank of Eagle Scout is a monumental challenge. Each
year, the San Diego-Imperial Council recognizes those young men who
achieved the rank of Eagle the previous year. This year's Eagle
Recognition Dinner will be held on April 21 from 6-9 PM at the Hall of
Champions in Balboa Park. This year we are expecting nearly 300 recent
Eagle Scouts, dinner sponsors, Council representatives and guests.
All Eagles who earned their rank in 2008 are invited to this amazing event
at no charge. Adult sponsors are paired with each new Eagle to cover
the cost of the event for both and to host the scout and mentor him toward
his future endeavors. If you would like to sponsor one of our fine
Eagles, please contact

We hope to see each and
every 2009 Eagle Scout at the dinner, and we thank all sponsors
for your dedication to these young men and to the Scouting Program.

Dave Hendron,
2008 Scoutmaster of the Year |

Congratulations go to Scoutmaster Dave Hendron of Troop 709 for being
selected as our 2008 Charles L. "Chuck" Smith Scoutmaster of the Year.
Dave was announced for this lofty achievement at the annual Council Dinner
was held Friday, February 13, at the Doubletree Hotel in Mission Valley.
True to his nomination, Dave was camping with his Scouts the night of the
awards ceremony, so he will receive his award at the troop Court of Honor
in May.
Each year, the Eagle
Scout Alumni Association presents one exceptional Scouter with the Charles
L. "Chuck" Smith Scoutmaster of the Year Award. Nominations are
accepted beginning in September through the end of the year, and our
committee selects one candidate who best meets the requirements and
guidelines of the award.

Mission
Statement
The purpose of the San Diego -
Imperial Council Eagle Scout Alumni Association (ESAA) is to support and
enlarge the success of the Boy Scout movement and build fellowship among
adult Eagles in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The ESAA achieves this
purpose, by recruiting as many adult Eagle Scouts as possible to become
Scouting volunteers, by supporting activities within the Council that promote
the Scouts' advancement along the Trail to Eagle and by giving recognition to
the young men who earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
