Gathering of Eagles Dinner Oct 16, New Venue
New Scouting Alumni Association
The purpose of the San Diego - Imperial Council Eagle Scout Alumni Association (ESAA) is to support and enlarge the success of the Boy Scout movement and build fellowship among adult Eagles in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The ESAA achieves this purpose, by recruiting as many adult Eagle Scouts as possible to become Scouting volunteers, by supporting activities within the Council that promote the Scouts' advancement along the Trail to Eagle and by giving recognition to the young men who earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
ESAA Retreat and Planning - Mataguay Nov 1
The new BSA Scouting Alumni Association welcomes everyone positively and personally impacted by the Boy Scouts of America - former Scouts, family members of Scouts past and present, volunteers past and present, and the millions of Americans who benefit from Scouting in their communities every day-to join today.
By joining the Scouting Alumni Association, you'll stay up to speed on what's happening in Scouting and help youth experience the excitement, challenges, and adventure that Scouting has to offer.
This organization is separate from ESAA and covers all past scouts and leaders nationwide. Go to their website here, to join. Lots of discounts available to members.
The annual Gathering of the Eagles Dinner has long been the highlight event of the year for ESAA members and their spouses/guests. This year we continue the tradition at a new restaurant, the Island Palms on Shelter Island, 2051 Shelter Island Drive in Pt. Loma, on October 16.. The mixer will begin at 6:00 PM with seating for dinner at 7:00 PM. We encourage you to join us for an evening of fellowship in our great Scouting program, hear some great stories from our guest speakers, and share in a few award presentations. Dinner is $45 single and $80 per couple. Please contact Debbie Lenart at 619-298-6121 for reservations. We look forward to seeing you there!
Each year the ESAA Board and Members gather at one of out council camp facilities to provide service and to plan for the coming year. This year we will meet at Mataguay Scout Reservation on November 1. We plan to gather at the Casitas (top of the camp) about 8:00 AM and begin our service project at 9:00 AM. Bring a sack lunch with you and work clothes.
After the service project we usually tour the campgrounds or sit back and relax for a bit before we have a magnificent dinner prepared on site for the group. Planning usually starts after dinner and we are usually done about 8:00 PM. Those who would like to can spend the night in the Casitas, furnished with bunk beds and showers.
If you can't join us for the whole day feel free to come later in the day to join us for dinner and planning. Please contact Vic Enchelmayer at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you plan to join us.
Eagle Recognition Dinner a Huge Success
Over 340 Eagles, adult sponsors and event staff attended the 2014 Eagle Recognition Dinner on April 29. Each year the council holds the dinner to honor all council Scouts who earned their Eagle Scout rank in the prior calendar year. This year the dinner was held at the Admiral Kidd Conference Center in Pt. Loma, with guest speaker Aaron Lansdau, Eagle Scout and World Explorer. Congratulations to all Eagles from 2013, and a hearty thank you to our sponsoring adults and to the team of volunteers who put together the event!
