Annual Retreat & Service Project Teamwork
The purpose of the San Diego - Imperial Council Eagle Scout Alumni Association (ESAA) is to support and enlarge the success of the Boy Scout movement and build fellowship among adult Eagles in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The ESAA achieves this purpose, by recruiting as many adult Eagle Scouts as possible to become Scouting volunteers, by supporting activities within the Council that promote the Scouts' advancement along the Trail to Eagle and by giving recognition to the young men who earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
Nominations for the Chuck Smith Scoutmaster of the Year award are open now through January 15, 2016. Each year our council recognizes one outstanding Scoutmaster for their dedication to quality program and advancement in their unit. Take a moment to send us a note on the great achievements your Scoutmaster has made over the years. Applications are available here.
Our annual Gathering of the Eagles dinner proved to be a special night for all. Held at the Best Western Island Palms Hotel on Shelter Island, our members and guests shared a delightful evening of awards, stories, and fellowship. Guest speaker T.J. Zane shared some insightful words on the importance of leadership, and Scout Executive Tim Thomton gave us an update on council activities. We congratulated our new life members and welcomed several new members who joined us for dinner. The evening highlight was in recognizing exceptional service to our council in two categories. ESAA members came together to enhance the Mataguay experience as well as to plan for the 2016 activities. The team put up two information kiosks near the COPE course and at the Conference Center to be used to post directions and information for camp activities.

Gathering Dinner Huge Success
her long-standing service for Eagle boards of review and the annual Eagle Recognition Dinner. In addition, three veteran scouters received the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award for local achievement both professionally and within Scouting. Congratulations to James Brock, Tim Malaney, and Mark Filanç for receiving this prestigious award.
